Bobby To Join NUFC Academy

News Bobby Johnson

U12 Reds captain Bobby Johnson has capped off a fantastic season by being offered a two-year contract to join Newcastle United Academy. Bobby joined CJFC, from Whitley Bay FC at U10s, playing for our U10 Whites, the U11 Reds before leading the U12 Reds to a magnificent 7 out of 7 trophies this season.

Barry Middleton, Bobby’s coach this season, was fullsome in his praise for Bobby. “Bobby has been our rock at the back upon which all the teams achievements have been built this season, his performances have been excellent. His determination and desire to do well have shone through and as the captain this has undoubtably inspired those players around him. He is a lovely lad and I wish him every success”.

CJFC Chairman Michael Cairns was quick to point out that Bobby is a prime example of what can be achieved through hard work and trusting in the coaching methods. “Bobby should act as an example to all the players at our club that which ever team you are in, your will always be given the opportunity to develop. When Bobby first came to CJFC we felt that, whilst he could have been a  U10 Reds squad player, his developemnt would be better served by being one of the main players in the U10 Whites. Bobby bought into this and following a great season for the Whites, the next season he was ready to step up to be a main player for the U11 Reds”.

The club would like to wish Bobby and his family well for the future.
