U9’s & U14’s in Finals this week

Our U9 Reds and U14 Reds are both in action this week in their respective age group League Cup Finals.

First up are our U9 Reds who take on Wallsend Boys Club Barca in the Pinpoint Recruitment Junior Football U9 League Cup Final on Friday evening at Newcastle United Academy. The game is scheduled to kick off at 6.00pm.

Sunday see our U14 Reds take on Heaton Hawks in the Pinpoint Recruitment Junior Football U14 League Cup Final in what is a re-run of last seasons County Cup Final. The game will take place at Longbenton Sports Ground with a 10am kick off.

Hopefully both teams will have better luck than our U15s & U16s who both narrowly missed out in their respective finals last weekend. The U16s lost out in a thrilling penalty shootout to South Shields FC, after the game finished 2-2 AET, whilst the U15s were pipped 1-0 by Wallsend Boys Club Yellows.

First Finals of the Season

This coming Sunday sees two of our teams in action as the first Cup Finals of the 2018/19 Season are contested.

Our U15s take on Wallsend BC Yellows in the U15 League Cup Final which takes place at Kirkley Park, Wallsend with a 10.30am scheduled kick off.

Meanwhile our U16s take on South Shields Santos in the U16 League Cup final which kicks off at 10am at Cowgate Sports Pavilion, Newcastle

Good luck to all players and management teams involved

U13 Reds Complete A Clean Sweep

The U13 Reds capped off an unbelievable season when they added the NFA Shiremoor Press U13 County Cup to their haul of trophies, with a 3-0 victory over Heaton Hawks in tonights final held at Whitley Park.

Played in front of a large crowd the Reds had much the better of the play in the first half forcing the Heaton goalkeeper to make a couple smart saves to keep the scores level. Heaton started the second half the brighter team and had the games first real chance when clever play at the edge of the Reds box saw a Heaton midfielder burst through but his shot which seemed destined for the bottom corner was stopped with an outstanding save from Taylor Chapman in the Reds goal. The first goal in this game was always going to be crucial and it was the Reds who got it on 59 mins when Michael Johnstone picked the ball up down the left and drove into the Heaton box before slipping the ball to Nathan Kidd who finished from close range. The Reds then made it 2-0 when the same two players combined on the edge of the box, with some clever footwork from Nathan Kidd which released Micheal Johnstone who slotted the ball home under the advancing Heaton goalkeeper. The Reds finished the game strongly and capped off a great night with a third goal when a perfectly flighted William Dowling free-kick found the head of Michael Johnstone who planted the ball into the top corner of the net.
